The generosity of the British people is amazing, offering our homes to people escaping the war in Ukraine. Hopefully experiencing the care of other people and the satisfaction that brings will encourage some of us to think about becoming foster carers.

Recently more people have been making foster care their source of full-time employment. In a nationwide recruitment drive, foster care has been increasingly financially rewarding. On average a prospective foster carer can expect to earn up to £450 a week per child, usually tax-free.

Fostering agencies also offer free training courses and qualifications which could potentially increase your earnings further. Likewise, if you specialise in an aspect of the foster care services, such as fostering children with disabilities, you will receive higher fees.
