London Councils with Vacancies.

32 boroughs of Greater London

Inner and Outer London are listed here as defined by the London Government Act 1963, but there are other definitions in use. And the full name of most boroughs begins with “The London Borough of [ . . . ]”, with exceptions being the City of Westminster, and the three “Royal” boroughs.

The City of London

The City of London is not defined as a borough, nor is it within a London borough. It is instead governed by the City of London Corporation.

Two years after the London Government Act 1963 received Royal Assent, radical changes in London’s political boundaries were made. The 32 boroughs that you pay our council tax to, were created.

City of London — also known as the Square Mile — holds different political status to the 32 boroughs, and carried on as normal after the Act.
