Fostering with children Blog.

Becoming a foster carer will have a huge impact upon your family. Everyone in your household needs to be fully committed and comfortable with fostering.

The decision should not be taken lightly.  It can often be difficult for the children of foster parents. They must share their parents, their home and their possessions with foster children. They could also have to cope with challenging behaviour.

Many fostering agencies now offer support groups and training to children of foster carers. They will also be involved in the initial assessment process. Despite having its challenges, it is usually seen as a beneficial experience. Your children will develop alongside foster children and will become more empathetic to the wider world.
